DAMAGED HEARING: really, after spending hours upon hours in the car with our two guys, and fielding question upon question, and listening to bickering and whining and giggling and cheering and and and...how could our hearing not be damaged?



DANCER AND DREAM: two of my aunt kay's horses, the boys love love loved feeding them. they were fascinated by all 7 of them and boon spent a good half an hour planning just how he and hudson could get one. "first, we have to ask someone for permission to use their property, maybe somewhere in montana,... and then we have to build a cabin,...and then...how much do you think a horse costs? $100maybe or less? then we have to...where do we buy a horse? how do you even get one? and then..." a boy can dream, right?


DIRT: do all kids immediately roll in the dirt upon arriving at their campsite? actual rolling.


DOUGLAS FIR: amazingly beautiful, huge trees in mt. rainier national park. so cool.


DRIVING: did i mention we clocked over 2600 miles?

ELK: we saw many, many elk, mostly in yellowstone, but some in the tetons as well. big, beautiful animals. while most were female, we were lucky to see a few young males super up close and personal. in velvet and all. pretty darn cool.

ELEVATION: Logan Pass in Glacier National Park = 6,646 ft.
Yellowstone National Park = 8,000 ft. on average
Grand Teton in Teton National Park = 13.770 ft.
Mount Rainier = 14.411 ft.

FIREHOLE RIVER CANYON: a beautiful canyon in yellowstone full of amazing geysers and whatnot. we ran into my cousin mandy, her hub bo, and their little guy zae there, too. so cool!


FLATHEAD LAKE: on our way to glacier, we caught our first glimpse of beautiful flathead lake. boon said, "which puget sound is this?"
