TAKE YOUR KIDDOS TO WORK DAY

i brought the boys to wyatt's company

for take your kids to work day.

he showed them what he's been working on.

 they got to explore all the cool equipment and whatnot.

it was fun to see where daddy goes all day

and get a glimpse of what he does

while he's there.

and as we got our tour,

i couldn't help but think...

during the day,
my husband and i
totally live
on two different planets.

I HEART JOSS WHEDON

i heart this guy.

joss whedon.

i was introduced to joss by

my dear friend, bridgette.

and her love of joss

has now become my love of joss.

"joss is boss"

as i like to say.

ok.

this was the first time i've ever said that,

but i'm going to say it again.

it's a good line.

joss is boss.

see? rolls right off the tongue.

joss has many writing and directing credits.

he's the guy who brought us

"buffy the vampire slayer," one of the quirkiest,

snarkiest and best written television

shows of all time,

if you ask me.

i was late to the party, 

but i devoured in on netflix streaming.

then, he had a successful spin-off show with "angel."

yep, i watched this whole thing, too.

he also created a sci-fi western

called  "firefly."

another show at the top of my list.

short lived, and the fans let the studio know their fury!

so...joss brought us the movie 'serenity'

to give us closure.

thoughtful, thoughtful man.

joss is also the creator of

"dr.horrible's sing along blog,"

 a series of webisodes.

it's a musical.

and a comedy.

and it's freakin' hilarious.

i put it on as background noise 

when i'm at home working on this and that.

yep. i'm putting my crazy out there for you.

after all of this quirk,

you get the avengers.

this guy is multi-faceted.

the avengers is one of my all time favorite

action movies.

and surprise, surprise.

joss wrote and directed it.

my beloved joss.

this guy has also written episodes for TV shows

such as roseanne and parenthood,

directed episodes for

glee and the office,

and wrote the screenplay for toy story.

see?

joss is boss.

and more joss has arrived.

'much ado about nothing'

opened on june 7th

and stars many of the actors and actresses

that have been with joss throughout several

of his projects.

i. cannot. wait.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HUDSON!

as i may have mentioned,

our huddy buddy turned 8 last month.

for his birthday breakfast,

he got an "8" pancake

(oh my, his mom is so creative...

a pure genius).

for his requested birthday cake,

he got white on white,

with blue and red frosting.

and for his partay,

he wanted to spend it in spokane

with his family and cousins.

now that is cool,

i have to say.

so we took the trek

to the can

(we call it that affectionately,

i can assure you).

his grandparents

and aunts

and uncles

and cousins

all came to help him celebrate.

 we snuggled this guy,

our little elias. 

oh, and what do you know?

here he is again.

such a sweet, sweet little guy.

we got to hang with this guy,

our cutie patootie camden.

and we played with this guy,

our goofy goofster ezra.

also per hudson's request,

we celebrated with donuts.

incidentally,

it was national donut day the previous day.

hudson is totally in tune with the universe.

totally in tune.

it was a whirlwind trip,

but totally worth it.

it made this guy super happy.

ok, it's obvious that i'm 

a photography genius.

i mean, just look at these masterpieces.

apparently, my strength lies in

getting toddlers to pose

for flattering, photo-worthy shots.

so, enjoy this photo shoot.
