IT'S A PARTY...SNEAK PEEK!

our sweet little nephew ezra (have you met him?) turns one next month and my sister is letting me help with the decorations for the party. woo to the hoo! i love this stuff.

here's a sneak peek of a few things i'm working on. my goal is to use regular 'ol craft supplies and a bit of elbow grease to make things inexpensive and easy peasy. i'll fill you in on all the party festivities after the big event!



ezra is seriously one of the most happy-go-lucky kids i've ever met and we are very excited to help him celebrate the big ONE!

'LIL SMOKIES

yep. my 'lil smokies with good old fashioned candy cigarettes. the packaging doesn't mention cigarettes, of course. but the boys heard they existed and have been oh so curious. i love their expressions. hard core.

12 on the 12th

in honor of 2012, i am highlighting 12 photos taken on the 12th of every month for the entire year. behold! my oh-so-random photos from january.

4. Tess likes to wear mismatched socks. Not too mismatched, just enough to make her feet more interesting.
5. A cart loaded down at Costco.
6. Coffee with frothy milk compliments of two of Tess’s Christmas gifts from Wyatt: a new Starbuck’s mug and a milk frother.
7. Boon doing his nightly homework…and not liking it one bit.
8. Target…a happy inspiring place!
9. Keurig…delightfully quick coffee one cup at a time. But today…we’re out of K-cups! Dang!
10. Perler beads…the boys are on a kick, making all kinds of cool stuff with these little guys. Just create, iron, and they melt together to make a shape.
11. Tess’s feet again. She wore two different shoes today. These are her favorite…her black Chucks. But they are her naughty shoes. No support, no arch, nothing!
12. Hudson and his kindergarten buddies playing on the hill at pick up time.

TARGET THERAPY

sometimes on a gray winter's day, you just need a trip to target to put a boost of color into your life.


how can i justify getting some of these beauties. chevron AND red and turquoise. i swoon.

TESSESSORIES!

in my holiday crafty whirlwind, i made some little doodads...hairpins, earrings, pins, bracelets, rings, pushpins, magnets, etc. here's a few snapshots of some of those goodies.






it's surprisingly satisfying to glue something to something else to make a usable object. something like resin cabochons, crocheted flowers, fabric yoyos, felt flowers, or fabric covered buttons. crazy satisfying.

wyatt tried to help me come up with a name for these little jibbie jobbies.
his ideas:
blingamajigs (ok, they are sort of "bling," and they are definately thingamajigs, but i wasn't sold)
or
blingleberries (waaaayyy too close to dingleberries, and if you have a cat, you know what i'm talking about. wyatt says yes, it is close to dingleberries, and dingleberries are great. uh, no.)

but finally, tessessories was decided on (thanks juliette!).

i have plans for more tessessories, but i'll have to wait until the next crafty whirlwind. right now all i can seem to muster is a few dust devils.
